The question marks precede games that I haven't played enough to judge yet, and the arrows mark ports from either non-Sega platforms or from games not published or developed by them. I'll probably extend it to the year 2005 and beyond when I have the time. Following a discussion about the company's different eras, what could be considered a golden age, dark age, renaissance and so on I decided to make a semi-definitive list of what I see as the good to great games (for Sega consoles/arcade machines and other games published and developed or licensed by them) from their different periods, starting with the Master System and ending with the Dreamcast.
